HiTalent Recruitment is seeking a Peer Worker to join a PHN funded Program in Western Sydney. This role is full-time permanent, with access to salary packaging benefits, supervision and support.

Are you a compassionate and skilled mental health professional who wants to support individuals who experience mild to moderate mental health in the community? We are working exclusively with a well-respected not-for-profit organisation to seek a dedicated Peer Worker to join their team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in walking alongside people experiencing mental health crisis and distress by offering practical, emotional, social support.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Utilise learnings from personal experience of mental health challenges, distress and periods of healing to help clients experiencing mental health.
  • Support clients in accessing mental health systems and services.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Actively participate in individual and group supervision in addition to professional development activities.
  • Contribute to program development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Uphold organisational values and policies while maintaining a commitment to quality service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Have lived experience of mental illness, mental health crisis or caring for someone living with a mental
    illness and demonstrated experience of recovery.
  • Hold a minimum Cert IV qualification in Lived Experience, for example hold a Cert IV Mental Health Peer Work or be open to completing within 2 years of employment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to be identified by others as a mental health professional with lived experience of mental health recovery
