About the role

Take the lead role road in the effective operation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and devices to provide essential information that informs the future development and management of the road network. Provide high level advice to management, other NTG agencies and external entities on ITS innovations in relation to building a safe and sustainable road network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the operational control and maintenance of sophisticated ITS for the road network.
• Contribute to development of standards and policies, business plans and implementation strategies, guidelines and procedures that enhance delivery of ITS for the road network.
• Manage the development, design and implement ITS projects that enhance the service delivery of the systems across the network and support the use of big data for network operations.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum x years’ experience in operating Intelligent Transport Systems and qualification relevant to the role.
• High level investigative skills to identify and resolve technical system issues in complex road related data systems.
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capability to impart knowledge and skill to less experienced staff
• High level of focus on delivering objectives, organisational skills and responsiveness to changing priorities in an operational and sensitive environment.
