Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Defence Solution Architect to provide subject matter expertise across a broad range of ICT solutions architecture domains. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting a major Defence project by developing technical documentation, ensuring compliance with Defence standards. This role can be consider either as a contract or permanent engagement, depending on your preference.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop technical and capability definition documentation, including Operational Concept Document (OCD), Functional and Performance Specification (FPS), and System Architecture Document (SAD).
• Provide expert advice on ICT solutions architecture within the Defence environment.
• Ensure that technical solutions, frameworks, and architectures align with Australian Department of Defence standards and best practices.
• Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience delivering Solution Architecture outcomes on above the line projects, preferably within Defence.
• Strong understanding of Project Management disciplines, particularly Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Expertise in Data-Centric Interoperability Concepts and Design Requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, including US DoD Zero Trust Architecture, ACSC Information Security Manual (ISM), ACSC Essential 8 (E8), Defence Security Policy Framework (DSPF), and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
• Experience with Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) practices.
• Experience with Multi-Level Security (MLS).
• Due to this role being in Defence, Australian citizenship and a current NV1 clearance minimum is required.
