Burrun Dalai Aboriginal Corporation provides foster care, youth and family support services to Aboriginal children & young people and their families in the Macleay, Nambucca, Hastings, Manning, Armidale, and Tamworth Regions.

We are now recruiting for passionate person to join our multidisciplinary team and work within a supportive community focused organisation.
This opportunity would suit someone with the relevant background and experience who is looking for role in Taree, NSW.
Principle Duties:
• Participate in joint meetings involving parents and DCJ, and other key workers.
• Participate in regular monthly case reviews.
• Provide appropriate reports, case plans and information as per Funding Agreements.
• Undertake monthly supervision with Casework Manager.
• Participate in development of programs and Strategic and Business plans.
• Participate in preparation of Policies and Protocols in line with evidence based and best practice principles.
• Participate in Burrun Dalai network.
• Participate in team and staff meetings.
• Provide information and resources to community regarding Out of Home Care.
• Participate in Community /Networking meetings that are deemed appropriate to the promotion of Burrun Dalai OOHC and FSS by management.
• Participate in community development activities related to the improvement of Burrun Dalai services or recruitment of Foster Carers.
• Undertake training and development necessary to advance and maintain professional practice particularly in the specific area of Out of Home Care, inclusive of casework and legislation.
• Attend and participate in appropriate professional learning and development opportunities.
• Regularly ensure that standards are being met and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Participate in ongoing improvement program with the Office of the Children's Guardian.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
- Aboriginality.
2. Relevant qualifications and/or extensive demonstrated experience in Aboriginal Welfare and Child Protection area.
3. Demonstrated understanding of legislation related to Child Protection and OOHC for Aboriginal children and young people.
4. Understanding of issues involving OOHC for Aboriginal children and young people, families, and foster carers in the Office Location CSC Areas, and in particular the unique difficulties/issues that arise for Aboriginal foster carers.
5. Skilled computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
6. Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and difficult situations.
7. Experience in Community Development with reference to recruitment of Aboriginal Foster Carers.
8. Proven ability to liaise with relevant government and non-government professionals, community groups, colleagues, services and agencies in the provision and development of services.
9. Demonstrated ability to be reliable, motivated, committed, and able to work autonomously.
10. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of Work Health and Safety, Equal Opportunity, Ethical Practices, and continuous improvement.
11. Possess a current NSW Drivers Licence.
Desirable:
- Diploma of Child, Youth & Family Intervention, or willingness to obtain.
- Previous experience working in an Aboriginal Corporation.
