Job Description
The successful candidate will work with children experiencing developmental, sensory, and motor challenges, providing individualised therapy plans tailored to their unique needs. This role involves delivering both individual therapy and group therapy sessions to support children in achieving their goals.
Additionally, the therapist will collaborate with MG Activ to run supported gym groups, ensuring children have access to structured and engaging physical activities. Throughout the school terms, various therapy groups will be conducted, focusing on skill development, social engagement, and motor planning. During school holidays, we offer adventure, bush walking, sensory based play and various other groups, providing children with opportunities to engage in outdoor activities, sensory experiences, and creative play to enhance their functional and social skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify sensory, motor, and functional challenges.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans focusing on sensory processing, fine motor skills, and daily living skills.
- Provide individual therapy and group therapy sessions tailored to children's needs.
- Utilise the sensory gym spaces to provide engaging therapy sessions that promote motor planning, balance, coordination, and self-regulation.
- Implement fine motor interventions in our fine motor room to enhance handwriting, grasp strength, dexterity, and other essential skills.
- Team up with MG Activ to run supported gym groups that encourage movement, strength, and coordination.
- Facilitate various therapy groups throughout the school terms, addressing social, motor, and sensory needs.
- Lead adventure and fun groups during school holidays, offering exciting and interactive experiences for children.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and educators to provide strategies for home and school environments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions and progress reports.
