About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Clinical Lead – Intensive Care to join the team in Tasmania. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to work alongside the Clinical Director - Acute Medicine and contribute to the strategic leadership of the hospital’s services. The successful applicant will ensure resources are efficiently utilised, services are effectively integrated, and the highest standards of service delivery are achieved in line with hospital policy, service standards, and financial targets. In this leadership role, you will provide high-quality and authoritative advice to the Clinical Director and/or Nursing Director – Operations. You will also provide specialist medical care to patients attending the hospital, with a focus on delivering outstanding care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist the Clinical Director - Acute Medicine with providing strategic leadership and direction.
  • Ensure resources are efficiently utilised, and services are integrated effectively within the hospital/service.
  • Provide high-quality, specialist medical care to patients, ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Collaborate with ICU teams and hospital staff to deliver coordinated, comprehensive care.
  • Provide leadership in the Undergraduate General Medical Education Program, in partnership with the University of Tasmania.
  • Work with senior hospital management to help achieve service delivery targets, financial goals, and hospital policies.

About You

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and passionate Clinical Lead – Intensive Care who is dedicated to providing high-quality care and supporting the professional growth of the ICU team. The successful applicant will have:

  • Extensive experience in Intensive Care Medicine.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A commitment to improving healthcare services and patient outcomes.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in medical education and training, especially at an undergraduate level.
  • Hold or be eligible for AHPRA Specialist Registration.
