About the opportunity

AUSTRAC, Australia’s financial intelligence agency, is evolving to strengthen its fight against money laundering and terrorism financing. As we expand our regulatory reach and broaden our digital transformation, we're seeking a Delivery and Application Service Manager to lead the delivery, enhancement, and support of critical business applications. In this role, you’ll oversee application services, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless, secure, and efficient technology solutions. Your leadership and knowledge of various agile methodology will be key in fostering innovation, optimising service delivery, and supporting the agency’s evolving digital landscape. As a leader you are a multiplier, guiding cross-functional teams and creating an atmosphere where people feel empowered and encouraged to contribute their best ideas.

What are we looking for

  • Qualification - Tertiary qualification in a related discipline and/or high-level equivalent work experience.
  • Leadership and coaching - Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring teams in best practice in agile techniques.

Key Duties

In this role, you'll put users in the heart of everything you do, driving innovation and quality assurance, and elevating the user experience in every solution we create.

  • Work in cross-functional teams across Digital, Data, and Technology branches, collaborating with subject matter experts and vendors on service delivery.
  • Apply agile, ITIL, and DTA methodologies to drive application services, including performance reporting, benefit realisation, and delivery of application roadmaps and service catalogues.
  • Collaborate with multiple business and technical teams on the delivery systems capabilities.
  • Contribute to agile release management processes.
  • Provide feedback to agile teams and participate in post-incident reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and mitigate application product delivery operational risks, and service, incident issues.
  • Report to management on progress, outcomes, risks, and blockers, ensuring governance bodies receive essential information.
  • Motivate the team to meet project goals and timelines by fostering a collaborative environment where members feel empowered to share ideas, take risks, and take ownership of their work.
  • Manage commercial and vendor relationships, ensuring supplier arrangements align with delivery and service requirements.
  • Build and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including commercial vendors and suppliers.

Annual leave of 4 weeks (20 days) per year + additional paid Christmas close down.
