About the Role

We are seeking a Stock Controller/Inventory Coordinator to join our growing team at our Dandenong South factory. This is a crucial role responsible for managing incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring accuracy in inventory records, and maintaining efficient stock control processes. You will work closely with suppliers, factory staff, and Procurement/Scheduling Officer to ensure materials are correctly received, recorded, and allocated to the appropriate jobs.

Key Responsibilities:

Stock & Inventory Management

• Receive all incoming goods, inspect them for accuracy and quality, and update the inventory management system.
• Allocate stock to projects/jobs in the factory and ensure accurate tracking against Work In Progress projects.
• Maintain an organized and well-documented stock system ensuring all records are up to date.
• Conduct monthly stock takes to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
• Ensure FIFO (First-In-First-Out) principles are applied where necessary.

Supplier & Quality Control

• Check received stock for damage or defects and coordinate returns with suppliers.
• Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure deliveries are received on time and match purchase orders.
• Process and track purchase orders and delivery dockets against each item.

🔹 Logistics & Job Coordination

• Prepare stock and materials for work in progress (WIP) jobs, ensuring accurate dispatch and record keeping.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure they have the materials required for each project.
• Liaise with warehouse and logistics teams to track and coordinate deliveries.

🔹 Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensure stock areas are kept clean, safe, and compliant with workplace health and safety standards.
• Follow proper procedures for handling, storing, and moving inventory.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Previous experience in a Stock Controller, Inventory Coordinator, Warehouse Assistant.
• Experience using inventory management software
• Strong computer skills (Excel, data entry, and reporting)
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in stock management
• Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and take initiative.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams and suppliers.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and a desire for long-term career growth.
• A forklift license (or willingness to obtain one) is advantageous but not essential.
