Your Role as a Mechanical Tradesperson

As a Mechanical Tradesperson at Bis, you’ll be based at our workshop in Tomago, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining our underground mining equipment. Your expertise will help ensure maximum equipment availability and extend its productive lifecycle through preventative maintenance and high-quality repairs. Safety will always be a top priority as you perform all tasks with a focus on minimizing risks to yourself and your team.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking talented individuals with:

• A relevant heavy mechanical trade qualification.
• Previous experience repairing heavy equipment in the mining, civil or gas industry.
• A valid driver’s license.
• A strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
• Good work ethics, communication skills, positive attitude and willing to learn.

Good to have, but not essential:

• At least 2 years of post-apprenticeship Workshop Fitter experience.
• Experience with underground diesel equipment.
• Competency in forklift operation.
• A Dogging Ticket
