- Level B - $ 107,734 to $ 127,683 [part time pro rata] per annum
- Level C - $ 131,671 to $ 151,624 [part time pro rata] per annum

About the role
As a Teaching Focused Academic (60% Teaching; 30% Service; 10% Scholarship) you will contribute to the innovation of learning, teaching and assessment within UNE’s postgraduate professional psychology programs. Our programs are well established and popular with students, particularly those living and working in rural and regional areas. A key part of the role within the Clinical Psychology Program would be as the Unit Coordinator of postgraduate units delivered online. A key component of the Senior Lecturer role includes Course Coordination in the professional programs.
As a Lecturer you will contribute to UNE’s postgraduate professional and Clinical Psychology programs to strengthen and expand the University’s, teaching and training capacity in this area, and to serve the needs of education in professional psychology in Australia. Our programs are well established and popular with students, particularly those living and working in rural and regional areas.
A key part of the role within the Clinical Psychology Program would be as the Unit Coordinator of postgraduate units delivered both online and face-to-face and as Course Coordinator in the Professional Program. The successful applicant will teach into other units in the program in their areas of expertise. The role also involves supervising students (e.g., honours, PhD), and undertaking other roles as needed to support the postgraduate programs in their growth initiatives. Applicants must hold a PhD in Psychology and have relevant academic experience to teach, undertake research, and supervise honours or higher degree student projects.
About you (Selection Criteria)
- The successful applicant will have a PhD in Psychology;
- Applicants should also have evidence of teaching ability;
- be registered as a Psychologist in Australia; hold or be eligible for Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology; hold or be eligible for Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisor status;
- have an outstanding level of demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously in a team and the capability to develop effective professional/industry relationships to achieve successful outcomes;
- The successful applicant will also be an experienced clinical psychology practitioner and supervisor of provisional psychologists;
- have the research capability to effectively supervise psychology Honours and higher degree students.
