Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.
Key duties and responsibilities
The Services, delivered in collaboration with and under supervision by nominated AFP personnel, include, but are not limited to, the following:
- BizTalk2010 to BizTalk2016
- BizTalk2016 to AFP’s new Integration Platform
- Analysis, maintenance, and consolidation / upgrade of existing BizTalk applications as required:
- Provide specialist advice, guidance and assistance in choosing and setting up AFP’s enterprise integration platform capability, in line with the latest / best technologies available in the industry;
- Assist in setting up and maintaining all of AFP's Enterprise Integration Platforms and their hosted solutions;
- Updating existing design artefacts with proposed changes;
- Implementation of proposed changes including liaising with architects, developers, testers, release management and operations teams;
- Integration between BizTalk SAP, Hexagon CAD systems, various APIs and other internal and external systems;
- Prepare and produce product and quality plans and advise systems development teams;
- Accountable to design, code, test, correct, and document complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications, using agreed standards and tools to achieve results;
- Provide advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues on programming and software development;
- Participate in project planning;
- Build and sustain effective working relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities;
- Facilitate appropriate direction for the team by clearly communicating goals and objectives;
- Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action;
- Design and implement solutions to a range of unpredictable problems involving participation in the development of strategic initiatives;
- Assist in setting up and maintain IBM CP4i, IBM API Connect, IBM APP Connect Enterprise ;
- Work effectively in a small team environment and wider Command environment;
- Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other team members; and
- Record and maintain files/information in accordance with AFP requirements.
As part of the services, the seller must ensure the specified personnel:
- Maintains currency in information technology processes and technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.
- Establishes and maintains effective business relationships and professional networks.
- Contributes to and implements improved ICT practices and procedures.
- Remains accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, shares own expertise with others and guides and mentors less experienced buyer employees.
