We are crazy about mushrooms and love growing them. We operate a large indoor climate controlled, computerised growing facility based in Londonderry, close to Penrith. Our produce is supplied to all major Australian supermarket chains, as well as independent grocers and a range of food industry stakeholders.

We are looking for a full-time Safety and Compliance Officer to join our team.

As part of a growing business the role will need someone with experience and passion but also a willingness to learn and accept new challenges.

About the role

This role is very diverse, offering a challenging but varied and rewarding environment. It is a good combination of both hand-on duties and administration. The focus areas are workplace health and safety, food quality and safety and human resources administration.

What you’ll be doing:

• Inspections, checks, monitoring and record keeping with respect to workplace health and safety and food safety.
• Be strong support in food safety and quality audits / workplace health and safety audits.
• Be an active participant of the Safety Committee.
• Draft new / review safe work procedures and policies
• Assist with the investigation and the completion of corrective actions for customer complaints.
• Communicating with our distributor’s Quality Assurance Manager
• Sampling and swabbing for food safety compliance.
• Manage the farm’s outsourced pest control
• Conducting full inductions of new starters, including training on safe work procedures and policies.
• Basic human resource administration
• Support with managing the cleaning of the facility

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced safety officer willing to take on a new environment with new challenges such a food safety and basic human resource tasks.
