Senior Data Engineer

6 Month Daily Rate Contract * Start ASAP

We are looking for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team on an initial 6-month basis. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about building scalable data architectures and has strong experience with cloud technologies, data streaming, and modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize data systems and pipelines using AWS services (EMR, Glue, Lambda, S3, etc.).
• Develop software solutions with T-SQL and Pyspark.
• Implement data streaming architecture for real-time data processing.
• Work with Databricks, including SQL Warehouses and Serverless environments.
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipeline deployments using GitHub.
• Contribute to the exploration of Knowledge Graph Databases (e.g., Neo4j, AWS Neptune) for the Entity Project.

What You'll Bring:

• Strong experience with AWS technologies (EMR, Glue, Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB).
• Expertise in T-SQL and Pyspark development
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and data streaming
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and GitHub workflows.

Key points:

• Contract for an initial 6 months, extensions likely
• Daily Rate: $850 - $950 per day including Super (potential to go higher for the right candidate)
• Hybrid model: x2 days per week in office (Melbourne CBD based) / 3x days from home
