The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional to join a purpose-driven organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth processing of payroll functions, providing support and advice to employees, and gaining valuable experience in a government payroll environment.
As an APS4 Payroll Officer, you will apply your expertise in payroll administration and compliance to ensure the accurate processing of employee entitlements and the timely maintenance of payroll records in accordance with legislative requirements.

The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in accordance with relevant legislation and policies. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing payroll transactions, leave, and entitlements
- Providing payroll-related advice to employees and managers
- Assisting with PAYG taxation, superannuation, and payroll deductions
- Undertaking salary and leave reconciliations
- Maintaining personnel and leave records
- Preparing payroll-related correspondence
- Delivering a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
The Ideal Person
To be successful in this role you will be a detail-oriented payroll professional with a strong understanding of payroll administration, employment legislation, and entitlements.
You are confident in handling payroll systems, have strong analytical and numeracy skills, and are comfortable interpreting policies and providing clear advice to employees.
Experience working with First Nations peoples and an understanding of First Nations cultures and issues will be highly regarded. If you have experience with payroll processing in a government environment, particularly within the APS, this will be an advantage.
Salary / Rate
- $75k - $81k + 15.4% Super
- 6 month non-ongoing opportunity with option to extend
