About the role

At 'Sappho Books, Cafe and Bar' in Glebe, NSW 2037, we are seeking a friendly and experienced Bar Attendant to join our casual team. This role is integral to the efficient and enjoyable operation of our popular cafe and bar, serving cocktails, alcoholic beverages, hot drinks and tapas to our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and serving cocktails, alcoholic beverages and hot beverages
• Maintaining a clean, well-stocked and organised bar area
• Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all patrons
• Liaising with performers and organisers of our live events, including live music, open stage, comedy and poetry evenings
• Adhering to all relevant health, safety and licensing regulations
• Assisting with minor food preparation tasks as required
• Collaborating with the wider team to ensure smooth daily operations

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working as a bar attendant or in a similar customer service role
• Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation techniques
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
• Good numeracy skills and the ability to handle cash and process payments accurately
• Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work shifts including evenings and weekends
• Current RSA certification
