The Opportunity
Sesame Lane is looking for a full-time Early Childhood Teacher based in Kippa-Ring, Queensland.
Reporting to the Kindergarten Team Leader, this role is responsible for supporting children's learning and mentoring educators in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Designing and implementing engaging, play-based learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards, and QKLG
- Supporting children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through intentional teaching strategies
- Collaborating with a network of Early Childhood Teachers to share insights and best practices
- Maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements, including child safety standards
- Participating in professional development and ongoing training to enhance teaching practices
- Engaging in reflective practices to continuously improve learning outcomes
- Utilising online learning journey tools to document and assess children's progress
- Implementing sustainable practices within the learning environment
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive, and nurturing environment that fosters a sense of belonging for all children
- Supporting the centre’s philosophy, values, and initiatives to maintain a high-quality learning experience
What You Need
To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent qualification) and a current Working With Children Check (Blue Card). A minimum of relevant experience in early childhood education will also be essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG)
- Experience in developing and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to support online learning journey tools
- Passion for implementing sustainable practices
