Your New Role:
Part-time fixed term role based in Yarrabah. This role offers 8 hours per fortnight from April 2025 until June 2026 during State School terms in the Yarrabah region.
Our vision is ‘Playful Connected Communities’ and you will directly help us achieve this by planning, developing and delivering various play experiences
- Support program establishment with the manager and organise activities to achieve outcomes, develop session materials and make a difference in families lives.
- Create welcoming environments for families and children ensuring content is relevant and enhancing participant engagement.
- Deliver sessions as per funders specifications, moderate for safety, role model safe play and set up/pack down resources.
- Communicate with parents and carers about children's needs and provide guidance to play helpers.
- Connect parents and carers with other services for support.

About You:
- Genuine passion for supporting families with young children in a non-judgmental and empathetic way.
- Genuine interest in the early years and community work.
- Holding or being eligible to hold a Working with Children Check is mandatory.
- Qualifications and/or relevant experience in early childhood, childcare, community development, disability or family support.
- Experience working with families from varying social and cultural backgrounds is desirable.
- Experience in group facilitation that requires the ability to model positive strength-based strategies when dealing with challenging behaviours is desirable.
- Strong connections to the Yarrabah community is desirable.
