The Role:

Grade 3 Occupational Therapist - Community

Fixed term (maternity leave cover) position working 45.6 hours per fortnight (12/05/2025 - 11/05/2026)

We have an opportunity for passionate Grade 3 Occupational Therapist within the Community Therapy team at Northern Health. This Grade 3 role provides Occupational Therapy services to patients/participants within the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (HACC-PYP). These services provide support and maintenance to people living at home and whose capacity for independent living is at risk, or who are at risk of premature or inappropriate admission to long-term residential care. The CHSP service specifically provides home and community services for people aged 65 and over. The role also provides service to our Progressive Neurological Disease Clinic including people with Motor Neurone Disease.

The Grade 3 Occupational Therapist will be accountable for providing quality client care through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, planning and implementation of treatment plans, with an appropriate level of supervision. They will play a role in assisting with and leading in-service education and quality improvement initiatives. Supervision of Grade 2 Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Assistants and undergraduate Occupational Therapy Students is a requirement of this position. This role will be based primarily at Bundoora Centre, however the staff member may be required to travel and work across other Northern Health campuses and programs.
