Position Overview: The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of timber and other materials. This role requires a skilled professional with a strong background in carpentry, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under the supervision of the Site Supervisor - Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials to construct frameworks, structures, and fixtures.
  • Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, cabinets, and stairs.
  • Inspect and replace damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and sanders, to perform carpentry tasks.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Report progress and any issues to the Site Supervisor - Infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour and lift heavy materials.
  • Relevant certifications in carpentry or a related field are preferred.
  • High-risk licenses, including Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Forklift, and Heavy Vehicle, are advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites as required.

  • Proficiency in carpentry skills.
  • High-risk licenses, including EWP, Forklift, and Heavy Vehicle.
