About the Role:

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will play a key role in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) in leading and managing nursing staff within the ward/unit/service. With a focus on promoting continuity and consistency of care, you will collaborate closely with your team and other leaders to deliver high-quality care to patients.

You will promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other ANUMs and the NUM or equivalent, ensuring seamless care delivery for patients, facilitating effective communication, and fostering team collaboration. In addition, you will assist the NUM in implementing changes in clinical practice, ensuring that the team remains up to date with best practices, policies, and procedures to maintain high standards of care.

Your role will also involve supporting the management of the ward/unit/service. You will help with performance management, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, and work allocation, as well as managing attendance, financial planning, and supplies monitoring. As a key figure within the team, you will guide and mentor less experienced nursing staff, fostering their professional growth and ensuring they are well-supported in their roles.

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will be accountable for their own practice and involved in a range of leadership activities to ensure the smooth operation of the ward/unit/service. Your role will be integral in creating a supportive, efficient, and collaborative environment where both staff and patients thrive.

What We’re Looking For:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
• Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
• Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
