We are thrilled to present an exciting career opportunity for a Risk Advisory professional to take on a leadership role within a dynamic & people focused organisation. This is a pivotal position where your expertise in risk management, compliance, and governance will play a vital role in shaping the future of the organisation.
The Role
As the Risk Advisory Lead, you’ll take ownership of the risk management framework, compliance obligations, and governance processes. Reporting to the Head of Risk Advisory, you'll lead a small team, providing mentorship and fostering professional growth while working collaboratively to deliver on day-to-day work. This is also an opportunity to focus on strategic, forward-looking initiatives that help the organisation excel in its risk and compliance operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the risk management framework, assisting with policies, risk assessments, and reporting.
- Monitor and advise on compliance obligations, regulatory requirements, and legislative changes.
- Investigate incidents, manage breaches, and recommend solutions.
- Foster a strong, organisation-wide culture of risk awareness and accountability.
- Lead and develop a small team to build their risk expertise and capabilities.
- Engage stakeholders, influence outcomes, and drive collaborative solutions across the business.
About You:
We’re looking for a proactive, self-motivated professional. You’ll need a strong background in risk management and compliance, ideally with experience in regulated environments. If you have APRA experience or have worked in industries with strict oversight, that’s a big advantage. A legal qualification transitioning into risk would also be valuable but is secondary to your hands on experience in risk.
Key qualifications and attributes include:
- Tertiary degree in risk management, compliance, law, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a senior risk, compliance, or governance role.
- Knowledge of ISO31000 frameworks and corporate governance principles would be advantageous.
- Some leadership and team development skills, with a desire to mentor and upskill others.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven ability to balance strategic priorities with operational delivery.
