Your Role:

As the 2IC Service Manager, you will:

• Support and mentor a team of educators, fostering a culture of professional reflection and continuous improvement.​
• Assist in managing daily operations, from staffing to parent communications.​
• Ensure high-quality care and compliance with industry standards to support children's holistic development and lifelong learning.​
• Build strong relationships with families to support each child's growth.​
• Collaborate with the Service Manager to create quality relationships with children, parents, and staff, aiming for the highest standards of success.​

What You Bring:

• Qualifications: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification as recognized by ACECQA.​
• Certifications: Current and valid Working With Children Check and First Aid Certificate, including training in asthma and anaphylaxis.​
• Skills: Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS) to assist in ensuring quality practices and outcomes.​
• Attributes: Ability to support, mentor, and lead a team of educators in the absence of the Service Manager.​Capability to assist in managing daily operations, from staffing to parent communications.​
• Strong verbal and written skills for effective interactions with families, staff, and regulatory bodies.​
• Ability to effectively address and resolve issues that may arise within the service.​

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

• Previous experience in a Service 2IC, Assistant Director, Assistant Service Manager, or similar role within an early childhood setting.​
• Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.​
• Proficiency in using relevant management software and tools for communication, documentation, and reporting.​
• A commitment to engage in ongoing training and development.​
• Skills to address and mediate challenges or disputes that might arise among staff or with families.​
