Public Sector People are working with a local council to recruit a Traffic Engineer for a temporary contract assignment.

This current vacancy is suit to a Band 5 traffic or transport engineer with previous local government experience in a traffic and transport engineering role. This will be a temporary contract role for 2.5 months with potential for extension.

As a traffic engineer, your role is to investigate and resolve traffic and transport issues raised by the community, and internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Experience for this role:

• Assess and investigate customer/residents’ requests
• Assist with development of traffic management plans
• Provide recommendations to resolve traffic and parking issues
• Investigate the effectiveness of transport related projects

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant experience/qualifications
• Previous Local Government experience in a traffic engineering role
• Knowledge and understanding of municipal traffic issues.
• Ability to prepare and review Traffic Management Plans
• Sound communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to provide timely and professional advice
