The Manager Environmental and Sustainability Services is responsible for strategically and operationally managing the Environmental and Sustainability Services business unit ensuring that all services, responsibilities, functions and programs are performed and executed in a professional, efficient and timely manner.

Reporting to the General Manager, Infrastructure, Planning and Sustainability Services, and assisted by a capable team, the ideal candidate will ideally have:

• A strong understanding of environmental management issues specifically related to waste, water, urban trees, energy and biodiversity.
• Demonstrated experience working in an environmental management role, delivering environmental outcomes.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of climate change and environmental priorities within a local government context and its related policies.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and effectively manage a team whilst Implementing Council’s values and enhancing the culture.
• Experience in dealing with various stakeholders including Elected Members, Independent Committee Members, State and Federal Government and the Community.
• A relevant tertiary qualification, or relevant experience in an Environmental/Natural Resource focussed discipline.
