About us:
Emerald Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Emerald and Central Highlands region. Our vision, in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy is for Emerald Hospital to be the Central Highlands hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and some surgical services. We will invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.
The population of the surrounding community is approximately 28,000 with 15,000 at Emerald. There are two small hospitals within 100kms, located at Blackwater and Springsure. Emerald Hospital is a 28-bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across acute, community and primary care.
About the role:
The purpose of this role is to deliver high level nutrition and dietetic services of a varied nature to patients and other client groups of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). This position is required to exercise a high level of independence and represent dietetics on relevant committees or portfolio/s. The Dietitian Senior acts as a resource person by leading quality improvement, research, and service development of clinical areas and/or food services consistent with CQHHS and Queensland Health State-wide initiatives and strategic directions.
The Senior position provides rural generalist dietetics services which are of a varied caseload complexity, spanning the continuum of care including inpatients, outpatients and community clinical settings. Senior caseloads can include acute and subacute medical and surgical, cancer care, child and maternal health, mental health, residential care, home enteral nutrition, food service management and clinical education. The Dietitian Senior reports operationally to the Central Highlands Allied Health Team Leader, and professionally to the Director of Nutrition and Dietetics.
About you:
- The successful applicant must participate in and ensure compliance with credentialing and defining scope of clinical practice processes for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).
- The successful applicant must hold a tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognised tertiary institution providing eligibility for membership of Dietitians Australia and Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status. APD status is required for primary supervisors of dietetic students.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $100,627 is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
