Join Our Team as a Senior Peer Worker!
Are you passionate about mental health and ready to make a real impact? Medicare Mental Health Centre in Coffs Harbour is seeking a dynamic part-time Senior Peer Worker (0.5 FTE) for a 6-month contract. If you're enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to inspire others through your own recovery journey, we want to hear from you!
What We're Looking For:
- Lived Experience - Your personal story of recovery is invaluable and will help instil hope in others.
- Cert IV in Peer Work for Mental Health - Either completed or willing to pursue.
- Community Engagement - Experience with diverse groups, including Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, and CALD communities.
- Risk Assessment Skills - Ability to handle complex risk assessments and develop action plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients from various backgrounds, including those at risk of suicide or homelessness.
- Support clients with activities like physical activity and housing coordination.
- Plan and deliver community events and co-facilitate group programs.
- Maintain a database of local services and make warm referrals in consultation with our multidisciplinary team.
