
Business Support Officer

The successful candidate will prioritise and coordinate all administrative and business support relevant to the operation of a large warehouse, distribution centre or Transport Logistics.
Your key responsibilities
You will be required to fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Queensland Public Service values.
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Using discretion as required, prioritise and provide administrative and business support including email and meeting management.
- Use a wide range of standard Queensland Health operating systems to assist in the process of financial, human resource, travel and procurement requirements.
- Provide research and project assistance, including the preparation of reports as required by senior management.
- Prepare financial and human resource reports in formats that assist decision-making and meet the needs of senior staff within the branch/division.
- Liaise with Managers/Directors to gain information that is relevant to financial and human resource management planning and reporting.
- Maintain an effective records management system and manage computerised databases to implement efficient mail and document tracking.
- Liaise, consult and maintain effective relationships with all distribution centre and Transport staff, internal and external clients and stakeholders.
- Be an effective team member, willing to learn and actively participate in a high performing team by contributing to the quality improvement of operating procedures and checking of outputs.
Role fit
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- High level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with officers at all levels with integrity, tact, ethical conduct, confidentiality and ensuring client interest.
- Demonstrated high standard and experience of administrative support skills including, knowledge of departmental financial and administrative processes and reporting requirements, and information systems relevant to the business.
- Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and work cooperatively, effectively and collaboratively within a team environment; to work autonomously and utilise discretion in the absence of decision makers; and to meet deadlines and establish work priorities to maximise efficiency, work output and the changing needs of the team.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver work of a high quality, validity and accuracy to achieve team outcomes.
