About the role

Whelan Kartaway, a leading provider of waste management and recycling services, is seeking a highly experienced State Manager to oversee its operations in Queensland. This full-time leadership role will be based in Salisbury, QLD and is a fantastic opportunity for a talented manager to make a significant impact leading the State within a growing organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Providing strategic leadership and oversight for the Queensland operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery
• Managing a team of operational staff, including setting performance goals, providing coaching and development, and driving continuous improvement
• Developing and implementing business plans to drive growth and profitability in the Queensland market
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies
• Monitoring and reporting on financial and operational KPIs to drive informed decision-making
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in a senior management role within the waste management, logistics or a similar industry
• Strong and demonstrated operational and people management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities
• Demonstrated oversight of P&L, balance sheet and all financials
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies to drive profitability and market share
• Thorough understanding of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
