Position
A prominent company in the marine industry is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join its team. Based on the Gold Coast, this role focuses on the installation, servicing, and maintenance of advanced electro-mechanical systems for marine power transmission. The ideal candidate will have a background in diesel mechanics or electro-mechanical engineering, and will work on a variety of vessels, including yachts, cruise ships, and offshore vessels.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation of Systems: Install and integrate electro-mechanical power transmission systems and related products on various marine vessels.
- System Setup and Configuration: Set up and configure mechanical and electrical systems for optimal performance, ensuring proper integration with onboard marine systems.
- Maintenance and Service: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electro-mechanical systems, diagnosing faults and resolving issues to maintain vessel functionality.
- Customer Support: Deliver exceptional customer service by providing technical support during installations, responding to client inquiries, and offering hands-on assistance during service visits.
- System Testing and Calibration: Conduct testing and calibration of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure they operate effectively and meet industry standards.
Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Mechanical and/or Electrical Marine Experience: Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical or diesel-powered systems - ideally this will be coming from a Marine background working on anything related to aftermarket installs or servicing on watercraft
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities, with a capacity to diagnose and address technical issues in dynamic marine environments.
- Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel to maritime locations, sometimes for extended periods, to perform on-site service, installation, and support tasks.
