Role Description

This is a full-time role based in a leading precast manufacturer's yard in Bundamba. You will be based in the yard 5 days a week. The engineer must be available from 6am to 12pm to answer any urgent queries. We are looking for an engineer who will lead the cube design to match reality. The role will include research of individual components, FEA modelling, detailed engineering calculations and detailed inspections during lifting and installation.

Your day-to-day tasks will involve:

• Implementing our Optimised Cube System to complete lifting and bracing design packages on the proprietary precast CoreCube system;
• Refining and improving our Optimised Cube System;
• Providing preliminary CoreCube design and advise;
• Managing and scheduling the OES precast team;
• Coaching junior engineers to improve their technical knowledge and task delivery;
• Prioritising and coordinating design delivery of both flat panel and CoreCube packages;
• Reviewing and certifying both flat panel and CoreCube packages;
• Answering technical queries.

Qualifications

• +8 years structural engineering, precast or heavy lift design experience required;
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required;
• RPEQ or CPEng preferable or application in the process underway;
• Proficiency using Bluebeam Software;
• Proficiency in Strand7, Spacegass or similar FEA package;
• Knowledge of concrete and structural mechanics required;
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines; and
• Genuine interest in concrete mechanics and system improvement.
