Word By Mouth Speech Pathology is seeking applications from SLPs who are ready to take the next step in their career and can contribute to our already accomplished, reputable and industry leading team of speech pathologists.
THE ROLE & YOU
Speech Pathologist
We have several positions available (2-5 days neg; school holidays optional). The positions involve: clinical work (in-person at clinic, some telepractice and working from home) and consultative work at schools (independent and state schools with diverse populations e.g., culturally and linguistically diverse students and families). We seek applications from highly driven, fun and personable speech pathologists to join our dynamic and experienced team.
The successful applicant(s) will enjoy the independence of managing a varied caseload (focus on paediatrics and adolescents including management of individuals with language, literacy, fluency, pragmatics and speech difficulties) and contributing to our well-equipped clinic. The position(s) would suit professionals that are looking to up-skill and work with a range of populations. This role also includes professional supervision from experienced speech-language pathology team members.
Our clients are funded via Medicare, NDIS (35% of clientele), private health, schools and self-funded. Starting date for this position is negotiable. Word By Mouth is offering all the benefits of an ongoing employee contract with remuneration commensurate with experience (contracting is also available). Word By Mouth is a member of “The Alliance” - a collaboration of leading speech pathology practices in Victoria.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants will be required to provide a WWC, National Police Check and have the right to work in Australia without restriction. The successful applicant must ensure they have/can obtain financial membership of Speech Pathology Australia and hold (or have provisional) Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status, prior to starting this position. A current driver's licence is required for this position.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrated experience working with a paediatric caseload including pre-school and school aged populations;
- Knowledge of a range of assessment tools and interventions;
- Exceptional report writing and communication skills;
- Autonomy in carrying out the duties of a speech pathologist;
- Ability to liaise with other health care/educational professionals;
- Knowledge of evidence based principles in assessment and treatment;
- Excellence in delivering presentations and webinars; and
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
