About the business
We are a medium size, long established leading Chartered Accounting Firm located in Sutherland, offering our clients comprehensive accounting, tax and advisory services to corporates, superannuation funds, SMEs and high net worth individuals.
Our practice operates through a small team of professionals in a friendly environment. We are seeking an accountant with some business services experience to join our team.
About the role
The role involves assisting in the preparation of financial statements. including BAS, GST and tax returns, for companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and superannuation funds, with some client contact.
The selected candidate will manage their own workflow, maintain client contact, and eventually present completed work for review. Additionally, the role includes preparation of SMSF financials and tax returns for audit .
Work will be conducted under the supervision of the principal, with structured monthly training provided. Our practice utilises various software options (Class Super, Xero, MYOB and AO), depending on client needs.

Skills and experience
The successful candidate will likely have an accounting degree. Preferably, they should posses 3-4 years business services/taxation experience in an accounting practice.
Experience in business structures and their tax implications is also desirable, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction.
Other essential personal attributes and skills include:
- Professional appearance
- Ability to work autonomously
- Sound planning and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail, but also consistent with awareness of bigger issues.
- Experience with relevant accounting software systems such as MYOB and Xero
- Working knowledge of technology essential.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite. especially Excel.
- Knowledge of SMSFs, particularly Class Super, will be well regarded
