Alpine Activity Centre (AAC) is in the heart of Jindabyne and owned by Scouts NSW. AAC is in the Snowy Mountains on a 5-acre property, offering a range of services, facilities, and provides short term private and group accommodation options. It boasts lakeside views of Lake Jindabyne, and is within 20 minutes of Kosciuszko National Park, Thredbo Resort & Perisher Valley.
Purpose of the Position
The Cleaner is essential in providing general cleaning, housekeeping, and turnover duties to ensure quality stays for guests. This position assists making AAC appeal to more people.
Responsibilities & Duties
General Cleaning
• Maintain an overall high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of the facility.
• General cleaning of the Tony Balthasar Lodge, Kanangra Cottage, Blue Gum Cottage, & the Harry Stender Cottage.
- high dusting, de cobwebbing, spot cleaning, wiping windowsills and benches.
- restocking supplies, checking, and refilling all hand hygiene units.
- bathrooms mirrors, toilets, top up toilet paper, hand towels and soap.
- Vacuum / sweeping and mopping floors.
- making beds.
- remove liners and relining all waste containers.
- Removing unsightly marks off walls.
- Ensure the cleaning process includes (but not limited to):
• Adherence to the facility cleaning checklists.
- Keep the cleaner’s storeroom clean, tidy, and organised.
- Keep appliances provided for cleaning in good working order.
- Use cleaning products provided safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Inform management of any issues relating to maintenance that requires further attention.
• Liaise with cleaning suppliers to ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained.
Housekeeping & Turnover
• Management of linen and laundry requirements, including ordering and delivery from suppliers.
• Preparing and cleaning rooms to the highest quality and efficiency.
• Ensuring the security and privacy of guests, always demonstrating your integrity and diligence.
• Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and proactively report of any hazards, faulty or damaged equipment to management.
• Providing efficient, friendly, and professional service to all guests.
• Carry out additional duties related to the operation of the facility as required.
Guest Liaison
- Maintain positive public relations with all customers.
- Maintain satisfactory standard of behaviour and dress.
Key Capabilities & Requirements
Qualification, Training & Experience
- Experience in cleaning or housekeeping.
- Computer literacy and ability to navigate and use the Microsoft Office suite including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software and applications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently, autonomously and with limited supervision.
- An ethical approach to work, self-motivated and enjoys achieving results.

- Current Drivers Licence
- Ability to work flexible hours
