Your Opportunity
This role supports the Strengthening Communities programs by engaging with local communities to identify needs, develop programs, and facilitate opportunities that empower individuals, families, and groups. The role involves promoting social inclusion, fostering community participation, and supporting the development of sustainable, community-driven solutions with a focus on implementing early intervention and prevention activities for families with children aged 0-12 years.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide support and facilitation for Children's Advisory Councils as required'
- Implement initiatives for community development and collective impact to improve outcomes ensuring that projects are community-led and sustainable
- Build and maintain positive internal and external relationships, with community, government non-government services
- Assist in developing local networks and partnerships to enhance community capacity
- Prepare various reports and documentation, as well as collect necessary data related to the Program
Requirements for Success
- Relevant degree/Diploma with at least 1 years' experience or equivalent expertise gained through previous industry experience
- Experience working with cross sectorial community engagement and community development initiatives.
- Experience working within the region and understanding of current data and evidence relating to local community indicators would be highly regarded.
- Experience working and engaging with vulnerable and diverse communities, particularly focused on children aged 0 - 12 years and their families
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain sustainable internal and external relationships
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
