About the role:

Gippsland’s local TAFE is seeking enthusiastic and passionate Learning Skills Advisor to join our busy and engaged Student Services team. As a Learning Skills Advisor, you will work closely with other Learning Skills Advisors, educators, and other teams to provide support to individuals and groups. The Learning Skills Advisor provides in-class, group and individual learning support to students who have been identified through initial assessment and enrolment or at any stage throughout their study as requiring additional support to achieve positive outcomes in their chosen course.

To be successful in this role you will have a genuine passion and interest in working positively with people to support the growth of learning abilities within our student cohort. You will demonstrate a calm and caring approach with the ability to motivate students. Mandatory requirements:

  • Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent (desirable) and/or demonstrated student support experience
  • Experience working with students with learning difficulties and diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience providing one on one support.
  • Experience working in a learning support role in an education setting
  • Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
  • Current Police check (no older than 12 months)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
