About the role

Simba Build Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our team in Hamilton Island. We will require you to work away in Hamilton Island for some weeks. This is a casual position that will be responsible for operating various construction machinery and equipment to support our building projects. This is an ABN based role, $45/hr

What you'll be doing

• Operate construction equipment such as excavator, skid steer, small tippers, and compaction equipment
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on assigned machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Collaborate with the construction team to execute tasks efficiently and effectively
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols
• Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents
• Assist with other general construction duties as required

What we're looking for

• Ideally you will be required to work away from home for long periods of time. Works involve: detailed excavations, benching, site cuts. Main requirement is you can operate a 5t Excavator working on a steep site.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Machine Operator in the construction industry
• Proficient in the operation of a range of construction equipment, including excavators, skid steers, small tippers, compaction equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
• Valid driver's license and appropriate machinery licenses/certifications
• A good attitude towards helping in all areas on the construction site.
• Most importantly a positive and friendly personality.
