About the position:
To provide a high level of executive support to Council's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) primarily and back up support for the Mayor and Councillors. This position will be responsible for complex diary and correspondence management to effectively coordinate competing priorities and ensure optimal use of the CEO's time.
The Executive Services Officer will provide excellent professional and highly confidential administrative support to the CEO. This role will act as an important liaison and facilitator for customer service and communication with the Office of the CEO's internal and external customers.
The officer will work independently to perform a comprehensive range of duties, as well as specialised planning, data management, organising and scheduling.

Mandatory and Highly Desirable Qualifications and Licences:
To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you have (or have the ability to meet within twelve months of appointment) the below mandatory requirements for the role:
- Current C (Car) Class Driver License
- Degree with substantial experience;
Or less formal qualifications with acquisition of considerable skills and extensive relevant experience to an equivalent standard;
Or a combination of experience, expertise, and competence sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience providing executive level administrative support within a corporate environment, including the ability to anticipate needs and demonstrate initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Significant organisational skills to manage priorities within strict timeframes and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proven experience dealing with highly sensitive and strictly confidential matters, and the ability to demonstrate diplomacy and discretion ensuring the highest level of confidentiality is maintained.
- Exceptional level of attention to detail and written communication skills with the ability to prepare, proof and contribute to a range of corporate documents and correspondence.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft Suite of Software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat.
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills and apply new areas of knowledge e.g., within a legislative environment.
- Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently, demonstrating adaptability and professionalism.
- Commitment and flexibility to attend after-hours meetings and VIP events on behalf of the Office of the CEO and Elected members from time to time.
- Experience in managing the requirements of effective document control and in using document management systems (e.g., Content Manager).
- Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to Maranoa Regional Council's values and team goals.
- Previous experience working in local government or a similar environment (highly regarded but is not essential).
Position Details
- Location: Roma, Qld
- Full-Time Position - 36.25hours per week
- Maranoa Regional Council Certified Agreement 2023 - Stream A - Level 6 - 7
