The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Time Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for leading by example, ensuring the maintenance of top-notch standards in food quality, hygiene, and presentation. Your role will involve managing a busy kitchen section, mentoring and developing our junior chefs, and upholding our high standards of operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Showcase strong managerial capabilities by leading and supervising kitchen operations.
- Mentor and guide junior chefs to nurture their skills and uphold our culinary standards.
- Maintain an exceptional level of food quality, hygiene, and presentation consistently.
- Efficiently manage inventory, food costs, and rosters to optimise kitchen performance.
- Collaborate with the team to innovate and refine menu offerings while adhering to our commitment to Gippsland produce.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within a fast-paced culinary environment.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to maintain high standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to guide and inspire the team.
- In-depth understanding and commitment to Food Safety & Hygiene Practices.
- Passion for Gippsland produce and innovative culinary techniques.
- Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree (Preferred)
- Kitchen: 2 years full time in the role, 5 years preferred
- Australia (Required)
- Education: Certificate IV to Advanced Diploma (preferred).
