About the role

Brisbane Private Hospital are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse or Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Day of Surgery Admissions team on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to our Day of Surgery Admissions, Endoscopy/Pain and Theatre Bookings teams.

You will provide day to day management of this department to ensure efficient and effective team outcomes and coordinate the delivery of nursing care, supporting and developing junior staff and working in collaboration with clinical nurses.

In addition, you will build relationship with VMO's and work collaboratively to deliver superior care for their patients.

Essential Criteria:

• Current Registration with AHPRA
• Prior nursing experience in a perioperative/day surgery setting (5 years)
• Experience with people management, rostering and maintaining department budget
• Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
• Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
• Understand the requirements of private health funding
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
• Ability to work cohesively within a team environment

Desirable criteria:

• Post graduate qualification in Management (equivalent or working towards)
• Endoscopy experience
