Part-Time Breast Care Nurse (CNS or CNC) – Leading Breast Surgery Team
Are you an experienced and compassionate Breast Care Nurse looking for a rewarding part-time role in a dynamic and supportive team? We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to join our multidisciplinary breast surgery team, working alongside, two of Sydney’s leading breast surgeons in Sydney’s Hills District.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Breast Care Nurse to provide expert clinical care and support to patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer and other breast conditions. Working alongside a highly experienced breast care nurse, in a job share arrangement, you will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, offering both physical and emotional support to patients, triaging and coordinating care, and ensuring a seamless patient experience from diagnosis through to treatment and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide specialist nursing care, information, education, and support to patients and their families relating to breast cancer in accordance with evidence based clinical guidelines.
· Act as a key point of contact, guiding patients through their treatment pathway.
· Work closely with specialist breast surgeons, and the broader multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure best-practice outcomes.
· Triaging referrals to ensure timely and appropriate appointment scheduling.
· Assist with pre- and post-operative education and support, including wound assessment and management.
· Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives in breast cancer care.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Registered Nurse qualification with AHPRA registration.
· Minimum 5 years post registration experience in either surgical or medical oncology, ideally with at least 3 years’ experience as a breast care nurse, or related discipline.
· Post graduate qualifications in Breast Cancer Nursing
· Relevant experience in the management of patients with breast cancer (and/or Oncology Nursing experience).
· Demonstrated experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently
· Demonstrated ability to deliver quality patient care.
· Demonstrated time management, organisation and planning skills.
· Experience in the use of technology to create reports and documents.
· Demonstrated commitment to total quality management and improved health care outcomes.
· High level verbal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated commitment to developing and improving personal education skills appropriate to the position.
· Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to OH&S.
· Computer literacy.
· Demonstrated knowledge of health care education
