We are seeking a part-time Classroom Teacher in Year 6. This position is a maternity leave replacement, you will be working 15 hours per week. Week A Thursday and Friday, Week B - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

• The successful applicant will hold all relevant tertiary qualifications as well as demonstrate the following:
• Experience using the Australian Curriculum in a flexible manner to meet the needs of all learners
• A strong knowledge of contemporary literacy, numeracy and digital technology practices
• Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers in professional knowledge, practice and engagement
• Knowledge and understanding of the Disability Discrimination Act with the ability to apply Disability Standards for Education
• Ability to plan contemporary and engaging units of work in collaboration with colleagues
• Demonstrated ability to engage all students in learning, so that they are able to reach their potential
• Demonstrated ability to assess using multiple modes of assessment and to moderate against the Australian Curriculum
• Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the learning outcomes for all student

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Primary Teaching, Year 6 as well as:

• Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
• Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
• Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
• Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
• Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
• Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Primary Teaching, Year 6 as well as:

• Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
• Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

FAQ: Do I have to be Catholic?
If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
