The prison disability support initiative (PDSI) is a state-wide rehabilitation service that assists people in custody with cognitive impairments and complex disability needs. The PDSI is a unit within Corrections Victoria, which is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

The PDSI aims to:

What you will do

As the senior intake clinician with PDSI, you will lead the team triaging and supporting assessment and relevant recommendations for people in custody with cognitive impairment.

You will:

  • Screen and triage referrals, identifying disability-related needs and making recommendations.
  • Conduct file reviews, psychometric testing and clinical consultations for individuals with suspected cognitive impairment and complex needs.
  • Ensure intake and triage processes align with best practices, including documentation and risk management.
  • Support the training and professional development of staff and stakeholders.
