This Australian owned business with rapid growth and exciting upcoming projects! Located in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, due to the expansion of the business they are looking to hire an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic - Service Technician to join the team!

About the role

Coming from a Diesel Mechanic background, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow on the job in this role as it is in a niche market. The work is varied and will involve both on-site and in-house servicing. This opportunity has you dealing with all service and maintenance requirements and par-take in the on-call roster with regular overtime and adhere to strong work health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

• Equipment fixing, servicing, repairing & fabrication
• You will be responsible for the necessary servicing and repairing of trucks such as pulling gear boxes out, reconditing the air compressor and much more.
• Documenting all repairing including parts usage
• The ability to work well within a team and autonomously
• Working to tight deadlines to complete projects

Skills & experience

• Minimum of 5 + years' experience with heavy vehicle mechanic experience, specifically as a diesel mechanic.
• As the successful candidate you must have a Cert 3 Mechanical Trade Certificate/Qualification with experience in the heavy vehicle industry.
• Current HR Driver's license
• Good diagnostic ability with welding and fabrication experience is beneficial for this role
• You must have genuine skills and interest in hydraulic systems, electronic systems, wiring, fault finding, general mechanical knowledge and fabrication.
