Position Title: Restaurant Manager; Duty Manager
Location: Braddon, Canberra ACT
Employment Type: Full Time
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 (negotiable based on experience)
Experience Required: A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a restaurant manager in a smart casual dining setting
Qualification Required: Responsible Service of Alcohol

Role Overview
We're on the hunt for a passionate and seasoned Restaurant Manager & Duty Manager (2IC) to be the captain of our Front of House and Bar ship! Your mission? Keep our operations sailing smoothly while sticking to our top-notch standards. You'll juggle all things Food & Beverage, lead our fabulous Front of House crew, and ensure our restaurant’s systems and procedures shine like a polished plate!
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Supervise and implement all Food & Beverage functions, systems, and standard operating procedures.
- Staff Training: Conduct training sessions for Bar and Front of House staff, focusing on service execution, standard operating procedures, product knowledge, and responsible alcohol service.
- Financial Oversight: Manage scheduling, labour costs, budgeting, and ensure compliance with staff wage percentage targets.
- Beverage Management: Guarantee proper beverage execution to meet cost percentage goals while continually enhancing and refining the beverage menu.
- Inventory Control: Oversee procedures for stock receiving, storage, and management.
- Wine Service: Implement wine service and training
- Standard Operating Procedures: Supervise the training and execution of all Food and Beverage-related SOPs, including stock handling, opening and closing procedures, guest relations, and safety protocols.
- Guest Service: Promote the highest level of guest service and foster positive guest relations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of all Bar equipment, providing appropriate training for all staff.
- Inventory Management: Oversee and manage weekly stock and inventory both on-site and in the storage area.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years’ experience in restaurant management, preferably in a similar smart casual dining setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and standard operating procedures.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
- Ability to develop and implement training programs.
- Commitment to exceptional guest service.
