General:

Work with a very high profile Federal Government agency, based in Canberra.

This role will prove to be both interesting and rewarding to the successful applicant!

Security level - mandatory: current federal NV1 (or higher) security clearance required.

Location – Canberra head office.

WFH – none: this role is 100% office-based.

Start – estimated: late/end March 2025.

Initial contract duration – to 31 December 2025.

Extension possible – up to an additional 24 months.

The Role:

This role is for a SIEM engineer to implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.

Key duties:

The contractor will be responsible for the maintenance of cyber security monitoring and analysis toolsets, and will take a lead role in the build of the cyber security architecture through consultation with internal ICT teams to secure this architecture.

Technical skills:

MANDATORY:

1. Experience using Sentinel or similar SIEM solution;

2. In-depth familiarity with the Australian Government ISM;

3. Experience with security technologies such as endpoint protection, firewalls and IDS/IPS;

4. Extensive experience in Windows, Linux, networking and system administration;

5. Experience with security services in the cloud (Azure or AWS).

DESIRABLE:

1. Experience in cyber security monitoring and incident response within, or for, other Federal government agencies.
