Senior Estimator (Mechanical/Structural/Piping) - Karratha

Position Statement

The Senior Estimator is responsible for assisting with the costing and quoting of client projects and ensuring carried out to successful completion.

Areas of Responsibility

• Maintaining individual and workplace safety
• Maintaining high levels of customer service with a focus on sales
• Accurate interpretation of Engineering and Architectural drawings
• Accurate estimation of quantities from plans, billings and drawings
• Provide timely quotes to customer’s bill of materials
• Entering and reviewing works orders for Production
• Develop, build, and maintain relationships with new companies that specialize in target markets
• Facilitate and manage tender and bids process for North West Region
• Strengthen relationships with existing client base
• Responsible for promoting the company’s products, services and solutions to the resource sector
• Responsible for leading and handling negotiations with clients.
• Understand the specific needs of the mining, oil and gas industries
• Liaise with business personnel to ensure best outcomes for the business
• Prepare detailed accurate material, labour, equipment, subcontracts, construction facilities, etc. estimates
• Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits
• Prepare project bid status reports and ensure compliance with all specifications and contract statements of Work and Bid Invitations.
• Foster relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

As a highly organised and detail-oriented individual, you possess advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control methodologies. Your analytical mindset allows you to expertly analyse drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to produce comprehensive cost estimates, while your proactive approach ensures potential cost risks are identified and mitigated. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills make you a strong relationship builder with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, and your collaborative spirit means you thrive as part of a team, contributing to overall success.

Additional Information

An applicant with current site-specific induction and entry cards such as RIO, BHP, FMG, MSIC will be highly regarded.

This is not a FIFO position, however, an applicant who is willing to relocate to Karratha may be considered for a short-term FIFO engagement to assist through probationary periods and during relocation.
