Assistant Payroll Officer

Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. The College has a vacancy for an Assistant Payroll Officer to join our finance team. This is a part-time, ongoing position, 3 days per week, Monday to Wednesday, remunerated at Level 5 School Officer ($75,924 - $79,618) per annum).

The Assistant Payroll Officer works under general direction of the Director of Finance this position is accountable for duties including:

• Accurate and timely payment of payroll
• Ensuring payroll meets all Enterprise Agreement and Tax legislation requirements
• Update employee contract/salary changes as directed by Head of College or Enterprise Agreement changes
• Assist with the monthly payments to superannuation funds and reconciling superannuation reports
• Assist with the maintenance of the payroll files and records

Essential Selection Criteria:

• Minimum 5 years end to end payroll experience in a medium to large payroll environment
• Demonstrated experience in practical application in computerised payroll
• Strong understanding of relevant Awards and Agreements and their application.
• Diploma or degree qualification with appropriate experience or other relevant qualifications
• Applicants must have a Blue Card (Working with Children).
