About the role

Provide professional customer service associated with service delivery for the Tresillian Arts Centre.

Other key duties of the role include-

  • Respond to customer queries.
  • Provide accurate information on courses and other Centre services to Centre users, including students, tutors, artists and tenants.
  • Assist potential and current students with course enrolments in person or via the online enrolments booking system.
  • Receive and receipt payments.
  • Take room hire bookings.
  • Maintain mailing lists and stationery supplies.
  • Assist with curation and hanging of art exhibitions.

About the successful candidate

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a customer service role. Demonstrated experience curating and hanging art exhibitions.

In addition, we are looking for candidates with:

  • Sound customer service skills and administrative skills.
  • Proficient with the use of word processing, excel spreadsheet, electronic document management and online booking system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of curating and hanging art exhibitions

What we offer

  • This short-term contract role offers a cash salary between $71,959 - $79,534 per annum, plus superannuation, pending candidate skills and experience.

The City of Nedlands is situated just 7km from Perth and stretches from the banks of the beautiful Swan River to the edge of the Indian Ocean. A population of over 21,000 live in the suburbs Nedlands, Dalkeith, Mt Claremont, Swanbourne, Karrakatta, and parts of Floreat and Shenton Park. On 1 July, 1959 the City of Nedlands was proclaimed at the command of Governor Sir Charles Gairdner, in the packed Dalkeith Civic Hall. Mr Allan Jenkins read out the proclamation and the Minister for Local Government, Mr Leslie Logan, M.L.C. conducted the official swearing in ceremony of the new Mayor, John Charles Smith, the twelve new Councillors and the auditors. He then appointed Mr Allan Jenkins as the City's first Town Clerk. Among those present was MLA for Nedlands, Deputy Premier Charles Court.

Significant events and dates that contributed to the development of the City of Nedlands:

1893: The first move to establish Local Government in our area with the creation of the Claremont Road Board on 31 March, 1893, governing a total area of ten square miles; forty years after the death of Adam Armstrong, Nedlands' first resident.

1898: Approximately two square miles excised to form the Municipality of Claremont.

1932: Name changed from Claremont Road Board to Nedlands Road Board.

1956: Name changed from Nedlands Road Board to the Municipality of Nedlands.

1959: One hundred and thirty years after the first British settlement around the Swan River, Nedlands achieved City status. Name changed from Nedlands Road Board to the City of Nedlands while under the guidance of Mayor John Charles Smith Esq., JP Mayor.
