About Us

We are a family owned and run forklift and access equipment rental and sales company based in Hallam, VIC and other eastern states. Due to internal staff movements a full time position has become available to join our service department.

The Role

The Workshop Leading Hand will be responsible for completing, delegating, and monitoring tasks assigned to our team of technicians. This role requires excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, key skills and attributes include:

• Being proactive and action-oriented.
• Strong organisational skills with a process-driven mindset.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, and effectively managing daily workshop operations.
• The ability to allocate and oversee incoming work to ensure timely and high-quality completion.
• A strong focus on meeting customer expectations and quality benchmarks.
• Accurate completion of workshop documentation in line with manufacturer and company requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• Commitment to implementing and maintaining OHS policies and procedures.
• The ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
• Great attention to detail;
• Havinga safety focused mindset.

Preferred candidates will have the following:

• Mechanical Trade Certificate (Forklift Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or light vehicle);
• Competent IT skills and ability;
• Current drivers licence;
• Forklift licence (desirable);
• Solid understanding of diesel and hydraulics;
• Sense of urgency and can work within time frames.
