Our client is part of a large global company in the service industry, known for its excellent reputation and credibility. Due to business expansion, they are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their close-knit team in Melbourne.

This is initially a six-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent role.

The Role

• Your work would be split between financial and management accounting with a strong element of Business Partnering.
• You will report to the departmental head.
• Occasional interstate travel required

Key responsibilities of this role are:

• Execute routine accounting processes to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Prepare analytical reports for presentation to senior management.
• Develop financial forecasts, including cash flow projections.
• Oversee the processing and management of employee obligations, such as payroll tax, FBT, and submissions.
• Review and approve bank transactions.
• Manage project accounting as required.
• Educate internal stakeholders on financial literacy, including cost management, efficiencies, and business strategy support.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.

As an ideal candidate:

• Must have 5 + years of accounting experience in Australia
• Prefer Business partnering experience and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders
• CA/CPA qualified
• Experience in working with ERP systems - SAP/ Oracle D 365
• Must be a strong communicator.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with Navision is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical skills and data interpretation
